Both SONY and JVC’s camcorders compress information in a similar fashion. The information is compressed into a MPEG2 signal. This signal is compatible with average MiniDV tapes. In addition, the normal DV and HDV signals are recorded by both SONY and JVC.
SONY’s HDR-FX1 brings three 1/3 inch 16:9 1.12 Mega pixel gross CCDs. SONY’s HD codec engine can also adjust with the HDV signals by efficiently coding and decoding them.
